Question 1

What is Avodo and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

Avodo is an AI-powered meal planning and health tracking platform. You set your health goals, dietary preferences, and restrictions during onboarding. Our AI then generates a personalised 7-day meal plan, tracks your calories and macros, and adapts your plan weekly based on your progress.

Question 2

Is Avodo free to use?

Accepted Answer

Avodo offers a free tier with core meal planning and calorie tracking features. Premium plans unlock advanced AI coaching, unlimited meal history, personalised weekly plan regeneration, and priority support.

Question 3

How does Avodo personalise my meal plan?

Accepted Answer

Avodo asks you about your age, weight, height, activity level, health goals, dietary preferences (vegan, keto, diabetic-friendly, etc.), cuisine tastes, and any food allergies. The AI uses this information to build a meal plan that fits your lifestyle and adapts every week.

Question 4

Can I track calories and nutrition with Avodo?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Avodo lets you log meals manually, scan food with your camera using AI vision technology, and view a full nutritional breakdown including calories, protein, carbs, fats, fibre, and micronutrients.

Question 5

Does Avodo support Apple Health and Google Fit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can connect Avodo to Apple Health (HealthKit) and Google Fit to automatically sync your daily step count with your health tracking dashboard. The connection is optional and can be enabled or disabled anytime from Settings.

Question 6

Is my health data safe with Avodo?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. All sensitive personal data including your email, phone number, weight, and health information is encrypted using AWS KMS envelope encryption at rest and TLS in transit. We never sell your data or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Question 7

What AI features does Avodo offer?

Accepted Answer

Avodo includes three core AI capabilities: (1) AI Meal Planning — generates personalised 7-day meal plans and adapts them weekly. (2) Food Scanner — uses computer vision to identify food from photos and estimate calories and macros. (3) AI Buddy "Avo" — a conversational AI coach that can log meals for you, answer nutrition questions, and keep you motivated.

Question 8

How does the Avodo food scanner work?

Accepted Answer

Simply take a photo of any meal or food item inside the Avodo app. Our AI vision technology analyses the image, identifies the food items, and instantly estimates calories, protein, carbs, and fats. You can review and adjust the estimate before logging it.

Question 9

Can Avodo accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. During onboarding you can select from a wide range of dietary preferences including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, keto, paleo, diabetic-friendly, and more. You can also specify individual food allergies. The AI will never include restricted ingredients in your meal plan.

Question 10

Does Avodo track water intake and steps?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Avodo has dedicated water intake tracking with daily goal reminders and step tracking. You can log steps manually or sync automatically with Apple Health or Google Fit. Both metrics are shown on your progress dashboard with historical trends.

Question 11

How does the weekly meal plan regeneration work?

Accepted Answer

Every week, Avodo's AI reviews your food logs, weight check-ins, and goal progress. It then generates a fresh 7-day plan adjusted to your actual intake patterns and nutritional needs. This keeps your meals varied and your progress on track without manual effort.

Question 12

Can I chat with the AI buddy Avo anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Avo is available 24/7 within the Avodo app. You can ask Avo to log a meal by describing what you ate in plain text, ask for meal suggestions, get motivation, or request an explanation of your nutritional data.

Question 18

What personal information does Avodo collect?

Accepted Answer

Avodo collects the information you provide during sign-up (name, email, phone), your health profile (age, weight, height, dietary preferences, food allergies), your in-app activity (meal logs, water intake, steps, weight history), and food scan photos. We also collect limited technical data such as crash reports to fix bugs.

Question 19

Does Avodo sell my personal data?

Accepted Answer

No. Avodo does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not use your health data for advertising. Your information is only shared with essential service providers (Firebase, OpenAI, AWS) that help us operate the platform, under strict data processing agreements.

Question 20

How is my health data protected?

Accepted Answer

Sensitive fields such as your email, phone number, date of birth, weight, and height are encrypted using AWS KMS envelope encryption at rest. All data in transit is protected by TLS. Food scan images are stored in a private AWS S3 bucket accessible only via signed URLs.

Question 21

How can I delete my Avodo account and data?

Accepted Answer

You can delete your account directly from within the Avodo app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your Firebase authentication is removed immediately. Identifiable records are permanently purged from our servers after a short retention window as required by applicable law.

Question 22

Does Avodo share my data with OpenAI?

Accepted Answer

When you use the food scanner or chat with our AI buddy Avo, relevant data (your food photo or chat message with health context) is sent to OpenAI's API to generate a response. OpenAI's API policy states that data submitted via their API is not used to train their models by default. No personally identifying fields such as your name, email, or phone number are attached to these requests.

Question 23

What are my rights under GDPR or the DPDP Act?

Accepted Answer

Under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and India's DPDP Act 2023 you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, email privacy@avodo.ai. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
